PAKISTAN: There was nothing ordinary about the plain-looking house. Lights were installed inside at about 40 feet from all sides of the 12 to 18 feet high boundary walls. Concealed security cameras at the corners guarded the sprawling 38,000 sq feet of the compound.
The house where Osama bin Laden lived had four electricity and four gas connections. Three each were in the name of Arshad Khan while the remaining two in the name of Sahib Khan. According to officials, the Khans cleared their dues regularly. But the property tax was never paid. Amir Asif, the chief executive officer of the cantonment board, said several notices were served to them but they never responded.
