Land acquisition stir: Rahul Gandhi meets Greater Noida farmers

GREATER NOIDA: Catching the administration off guard, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the wee hours on Wednesday entered in Greater Noida and met the villagers of Bhatta, Parsaul and Acchepur which witnessed violent clashes between the police and farmers over land acquisition issue. It was a surprise visit of Rahul. The district administration senior officials swung into action after they came to know about the visit.

"Rahul Gandhi did not take sector 14A or DND route, he along with his cavalcade entered in Greater Noida via Dadri-Surajpur road. After crossing Pari Chowk he was stopped by the police and administration," comfirmed Deputy Suprintendent of police Rahul Kumar.

"Rahul first reached Parsaul village on motorbike and interacted with the villagers. He then reached Bhatta and met the villagers. He also met with the families, which lost their members in the clash. Now (10 am) he is in Acchepur village" Kumar said.

It is pertinent to mention that section 144 is imposed in Gautambudh Nagar district. Catching the administration off guard, he then escaped from the spot and then drove a motorbike and reached at the spot.
