NEW DELHI: The US may be fighting shy of designating Pakistan as a state sponsoring terror but it has no dearth of information linking Islamabad with outfits which are not only hostile to Washington's interest but have also been creating trouble in India.
Interrogation reports of Pakistani detainees at Guantanamo Bay, disclosed by WikiLeaks, clearly talk about Pakistani spy agency's ISI support to many terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HuM) and Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (HuJI), so much so that the US department of defence put them under a special category of terror groups that gets state support.
The report on a detainee, Zia Shah of Karachi, said LeT, JeM, HuJI and HuM were described as Pakistani militant/extremist groups that were designated as "Tier 1 Terrorist Target".
"Tier 1 Targets are defined as terrorist groups, especially those with state support, that have demonstrated their intention and the capability to attack US persons or interest", the detention report on Shah said while linking these outfits with ISI.
